Dandj2 - yes, it is a shower. It has moveable glass doors that swing open and shut (handy for getting in and out and using the tub). The kitchen is okay. There is a microwave and stove top but no oven. Plenty of pots and pans and plates, etc. I didn't do any heavy cooking but there seemed to be a supply of spices, olive oil etc (obviously that is subject to change)! It is a great location with a large (for Paris) grocery store a block away, and on the street parallel to Rue St. Michel (Rue St. Jacques) there are a ton of stores with prepared food, a great chacuterie, butcher shop, boulangerie, etc. I'll top my trip report for you (it is long but you can skim through for the apartment parts). Called Elmo in Paris.

The only funky thing about the apartment is that it is in what was probably once a top attic floor so the elevator goes up to the floor before and then you have to take one flight of stairs up.

It was a bit spartan in decor but that was good for us because we were with a toddler who gets into things. It was quite comfortable, well located and (I thought) large for the price. But not fancy if that is what you are looking for.

sally30,

thank you for your informative reply. First hand knowledge is great.

Nice that they have a bit of spices and enough plates.

Where we stayed in the Marias before they didnt have any big bowls so we made salad in a pan.

So looking forward to wandering the little streets and learning new areas.

Tatdenning, just to let you know, rue Ferdinand Duval is not the same as rue Daval in the 11th. Ferdinand Duval is off rue du Rivoli in the 4th. Easily found on Google.

Good luck! I impulsively booked a flight to Paris a few days ago and am now in the same boat.

Thanks everyone,

Yes, I think I'm going to go with the one on Ferdinand Duval. It seems like it would be centrally located and I think we would like the area. It's a bit more than I'd wanted to spend, but I'm exhausted with looking.

I appreciate eveyone's help!
