How intriguing...maybe we can get back to the serious stuff now!

Pinko Aug 7th, 2000 06:47 PM
Chris,

Two questions:

Why would you assume people outside of Kansas have never heard of Fred Phelps when he has made a point of chartering hate expeditions around the US?

Have you ever been called a 'wet blanket' before?

chris Aug 7th, 2000 07:18 PM

Pink,

I did not indicate that people outside of KS had not heard of Fred. I said I doubt many people know of the Fred Phelps from KS. This means those in KS or out. He is not some national figure.

And is there a logical connection to your wet blanket statement? Simply because I take exception to someone who attacks me, how does that make me a wet blanket? I can't wait to hear this one.

I agree Chris, Pinko's statement seems misplaced.

SharonM Aug 7th, 2000 07:43 PM

Who the F*k IS Fred Phelps???? (I really don't care...) Actually, I'VE never heard of him either!
...not much interested in that line of thought...K??!

So...shades of pink? please?!

Fred Phelps,

Isn't he the father on My Three Sons?

Nono Aug 8th, 2000 04:45 AM

No No No - that's Jim Phelps and this thread will self destruct in 5 seconds.

I dunno, but it put me through the full gamut of emotions. Very nostalgic for the old biting wit, including the creative names one could post under before registration. But glad there seem to be less personal vendettas these days.

I think it is definitely time for the classic Fodor's "compare and contrast" exercise...between hot pink capri pants and black ones. Please tell us the differences and, most importantly, whether or not you will actually wear them on your upcoming trip. And while you're at it, please comment on whether or not your capri-panted rear end will fit in a coach seat and if the food on the airline chosen is "good." Please complete your remarks with recommendations for a hotel in Rome that is near the Spanish Steps that costs less than 25 Euros a night.
