We stayed on Rue Madame last month which is around the corner from the Luxembourg Parc. We loved the location and walked most everywhere. I believe you will be a couple of blocks from the Saint Sulpice metro. Enjoyed an excellent meal at Au Bon Saint Pourcain on Rue Servandoni, the street adjacent to the Luxembourg Parc.

It's a quiet neighborhood, but you're close to everything. And the Luxembour Gardens are beautiful.

Another nice apartment rental option is www.parisperfect.com. You will see them mentioned frequently on this website. Maybe GraceJoan will chime in? I know she stayed here recently.

This agency will rent for 4 nights if they have availability over your dates. The majority of their apartments are located in the 7th Arrond and many have an Eiffel Tower view.

Check out their website!

Yes, Luxembourg Parc is walking distance/metro to many sights you'll want to see, especially of course Luxembourg Gardens. There are a few metro stations within 4-6 blocks I think (St. Sulpice, Mabillon, Rennes) and these are pleasant blocks to stroll.

When I mentioned above that I walked past the hotel a few weeks ago it was because I was going to see the Filippo and Filippino Lippi exhibit at the Musée du Luxembourg, which is at 19 rue de Vaugirard, quite near the hotel. I really wouldn't worry about this location at all. And the hotel looks very nice and gets good reviews.

Thanks for the suggestion about paris perfect - I sent them an e-mail this morning. I am still waiting to hear back from www.guestapartment.com.
I am visualizing us at the Luxembourg gardens enjoying a picnic and people watching! I will put the Au Bon Saint Pourcain on our list......
Thanks, too for the feedback regarding the Luxembourg Parc. It does look like a lovely hotel. We love museums and appreciate the link to the Musee du Luxembourg.

We spent few days at Hotel des Grandes Ecoles in the Fifth..

Great place to be..At night because of the tall wall surrounding the hotel, is so quite that is easy to forget that you are in Paris.

I am going back to Paris but because I could not make the reservations with the Grandes Ec. I will return again to Hotel Bonaparte in the 6th.
Good location and is also very close to a Moniprix,

I was there few years ago with my daughter and G.Daughter..

i'm no Paris expert, but the arrondisements are numbered neighborhoods. they start with the 1st in the middle of Paris, and spiral outwards (like a snail). you can tell the arrondisement number from the postal code of a hotel. 1st, 4th, 5th, 6th, are considered central.
