Help..cannot find a hotel in Venice
I have looked everywhere and I cannot finda hotel in Venice for October 22-23. Everything is booked.
Should I just pack it in or keep looking? |
|
what's your budget? how many people?
|
Venere.com shows 125 hotels for your dates. Why don't you check them out, select a few that look like they may meet your needs, then come back & ask about the specific choices? Also, I would e-mail the hotels directly....you may get better price quotes that way.
|
Why don't you try:
www.comune.venezia.it This is the city of Venice's official web site. Click on the link for the English version, then tourist, then hotels. This site lists all the Venice hotels alphabetically, including all the pertinent information you need to make reservations. |
try venicehotel.org - looks like their rates are very good. ALos, www.venicehotel.com has online rate info and booking. Hotel Vivit on their web site is a 3 star with rates of 105 euros per night ! Looks like this could be a great web site ! Good luck.

Try also www.veniceby.com

Thanks. I am looking for 3 rooms, 2persons per room.
I will begin my search again... I will report back. |
have tried and everytingis $300...even a moderate place. Availablity is an issue.
Have my eye on Framon Hotel Manin and Hotel Anastasia, and violino d oro |
HI tina--3 rooms is a very different request than 1 room--as you can see, I am a math whiz!! :) I think that you will have a problem with only a month's lead time and may have to consider splitting up--are all travelers adults, so that this would be an option?
|
Violino d'Oro and the Anastasia both have great locations, and good reviews at tripadvisor.com
Try this one, at less $$ it is highly praised at tripadvisor, and just today here on another thread www.abbaziahotel.com. |
We've stayed at Violin d'oro and was very pleased. Our room overlooked the plaza and canal where boats launched. We had a small balcony. Service was fantastic. I hope they have availability...happy travels!
|
Have you considered renting an apartment? Even a two-bedroom might do if it has a pull-out in the living room. Try VRBO.com (Vacation Rentals By Owners). Others on this thread may know other good sources for apartments.

I always suggest LA FORCOLA, because I have stayed there, I liked and it's conveniently located on Strada Nuova. It's a 3 star hotel.

We had a similar problem and simply took a hotel in nearby Padua, itself a lovely city worth a stroll or two at least. It's around a half-hour from Venice by train, a bit more on the slow regional one, a bit quicker on the spiffy ones. Plenty of trains, anyhow, and late ones to get back, too.
We stayed at Al Cason, about 6 minutes from the station on foot. Large rooms, pretty good breakfast - didn't try the restaurant; can't say a bad word about it except that it is not in a scenic location but just right for our purpose. Check www.hotel.padova.it/, select English (top right) then click on 3 stelle (3-star), you'll see it there, and lots of others. WK |
Oct 23rd is the Venice Marathon.
Good luck! Try laterooms.com |

On the third page, the Antica Locanda Al Gambero (3 Star Hotel) has three double rooms available at 200 E per night. Good luck. |
BATUFFOLINA
Can you tell me more about the hotel La Forcola? I can afford this one! How is the plumbing, beds, linens, whatever details you might want to offer are welcome. Very interested in Breakfast quality and morning coffee, especially. Thanks, Debbie |
Still looking and nothing. Maybe will change our plans.
|
How about staying in another town nearby and taking the train in. Would not be my first suggestion but since nothing else is working out. Works for my shoe-string budget traveling friends.
