Can you tell me if there's a WC in the loft area of the 122 apartment?
I saw where someone mentioned there being a half bath downstairs and I'm wondering what the toilet setup of the apartment is? Thanks!

Guenmai Sep 16th, 2008 04:56 PM

There is a full bathroom upstairs next to the bedroom and a half bathroom downstairs between the kitchen and livingroom. Happy Travels!

At the risk of sounding like a complete goofball - does that half bath mean there's a potty?

JohnFitz Sep 16th, 2008 06:26 PM

In her post on 04/21 at 1.48 Guenmai confirmed there is a toilet and sink downstairs .

Guenmai, I just looked on the website www.anamericandriverinparis.com and I didn't see a "shuttle" type service from Paris to CDG, did you do one of the tours? Or were you able to hire him for just the trip to the airport?

Guenmai Oct 8th, 2008 04:54 PM

He works for the shuttle service that I mentioned above on this thread. His personal tour service is his own separate business. I did not take a tour with him. I didn't need that kind of service. I've been going to Paris for over 3 decades. But, it might be something good for first timers as they can write their own tour and he was very laid back and says he's flexible. Happy Travels!

Why the 6th? I will be a first timer in May and I am trying to decide where to stay and how to use my time. Any basic recomendations?

Guenmai Mar 9th, 2009 09:24 PM

Many of us like that area as it's very easy to walk to a lot of places, from there. It has great shopping, and small streets with interesting boutiques. Also a wide variety of restaurants/cafes/bakeries etc... I've stayed all over Paris since 1976, but the 6th just suits me quite well.

If for some reason I couldn't get a place in the 6th, then I'd either go to the 7th or 5th. However, on this upcoming trip, in a few weeks, I'll be staying with a Parisian friend in the apartment that he owns in the 10th. I'll fly from L.A. to Paris and he'll meet me at the airport and then we'll fly to Italy together for a vacation and then back to Paris together where I'll just stay with him for 4 days before flying home. I usually stay in Paris on average of 7-8 days, once or twice a year.

He took me by his new apartment last spring, to show me the ongoing renovations. So, he walked me around the neighborhood which I found interesting. I'll however take the bus over to the 6th for lunch daily at my favorite restaurant and I'll go there to shop, too. Happy Travels!

Guenmai, it seems like you have a lot of experience. I found an apartment that seems to be a good deal for me. I t is located at 1 rue Gabrielle - Paris 75018 (18th district

Is this a good area for a first timer? The pictures in the internet look very attractive.
