We stayed in this apartment in 2004 with our two sons who were 12 and 17 at the time. They shared the hide away sofa bed on the first floor. It was crowded but they did fine. We were there during world cup and the bars were loud at night but once we shut the windows the noise level was fine and we were all able to sleep well. The little crepe place right across the street is good and there is WONDERFUL gelato at Amorino which is just down the street. We loved the neighborhood, easy access to the metro, restaurants and being within walking distance of Notre Dame area. It was great!

A friend and I are staying in the same apartment in September. Thanks so much for your feedback. Does it have a cafetiere for coffee-making?
So glad to hear you enjoyed it. I love that area--used to stay at the Relais St. Germain when on business trips but it's too rich for my personal purse and I like the idea of being able to have some meals in. Regards. |
From what I remember, there was a coffee maker. I don't drink coffee, but I'm 99% sure that there was one sitting on the kitchen counter. Happy Travels!

Hi Guenmai,
Thanks for the response. You nailed exactly our concern about most loft apartments. We need just enough room to have two separate areas so people can enjoy their down time a little more, and this sounds just right. I will tell you, though, that we typically have the kids sleep in the bedroom so we can stay up a little later and have access to the kitchen and yes, the vin rouge. :) Well worth the sofabed for that! |
You're welcome. Happy travels !

Just got back from the apt. Yes there is a coffee maker and there was even coffee there. We bought milk, yogurt, and cereal. That's about all we ate or cooked in the apt, but it was certainly available to do so if we wanted. Everytime we ate breakfast there, we would tell ourselves how much we saved. As you all know...Paris is expensive.

Just wanted to take a second to belatedly thank you for this thread. Right after you originally posted, we spent 5 nights at the VIP studio on rue Gregoire de Tours, and I used a lot of the info you posted while we were there (e.g., laundromat, grocery store, etc.). In fact, if you had not mentioned the laundromat on the corner of Buci and Seine, I never would have known it was there, and would have wasted so much time looking for one. So, thanks! |
You're welcome. Happy Travels!
