I'm looking on my Roma Atlante Tascabile map and see the Spagna Metro. But it seems Via V. Veneot is quite away from this and actually closer to Barberni Metro. I'm interested in going to this grocery store when in the Spagna area, can I get there by going into the Spagna Metro? Thanks. |
When you go inside the Spagna Metro station, there are escalators and a passage way lined with shops and the grocery store. These lead to another escalator that take you right out onto the Via Veneto. Just follow the signs inside the station for the Via Veneto

Hit reply too soon. You come out onto the Via Veneto at the intersection with Porta Pinciana.
|
And the ViaVeneto at the lower end runs into the Piazza Barberini. The subway entrance is right there at the end of Via Veneto where Piazza Barberini is.
|
But the grocery store is at the top entrance at Porta Pinciana entrance, not at the Barberini ..forget barberini if you are looking for the store!

Exactly jody, I was just trying to give those that are unfamaliar with that part of Rome the idea of where ViaVeneto is in relationship to the Piazza Barberini.

The clue to finding the grocery store in the Via Veneto metro that runs to Spagna metro is that the top of the escalator is bright orange on the corner and Harry's Bar is right next to it.The wine in the grocery store has proven to be way cheaper than the dutyfree store at the airport.Anyone else with some great grocery type stores in the Rome area?

We found their wine prices and the price of their limoncello to be way less expensive than anywhere else we looked, too!
