no one goes to greece in october -best to go july to early sept.

Sophy, I disagree that no one goes in October. Most hotels are full. I have spoken to several couples that are going in October.I live a warm area and prefer to go when is is mot so hot and less crowded with tourists..

Suanne, I think Oct will be great..less me means more attention and islands for us..LOL

I grew up in greece & agree that tourism definitely declines in October- peak times are june to late September (Greeks return home during these months). Greece may still be warm in Oct- it'll be cheaper- less people- & easier to get reservations. My fav month though is still August!
|
Yep-My uncle owns a restaurant & club in Santorini- they close up shop in October because tourism dies down. Gus my fav month is July!

I would like point out that in this particular October, countrywide mayoral elections are set to take place on two consecutive weekends (namely October 13th & 20th). I'm afraid that public life will be a bit slow on or about those days and that may cause some trouble to visitors.
