I'll be in Paris from the 18th until the 23rd. Let me know.

BettyBoop Feb 25th, 2006 06:32 PM

I'm in Paris from the 23rd to the 27th. I leave on the 28th. Sounds like I may miss the proceedings, but I'll keep checking this post.

sassy27 Feb 25th, 2006 06:42 PM

I leave for Paris tomorrow (Feb 26) and will be returning Sunday (Mar 5). My flight doesn't take off until late tomorrow so I will be checking Fodors for last minute updates if anyone is interested.

icithecat Feb 25th, 2006 06:58 PM

This is a cool thing to do. A few years ago we met a Fodors couple from NY at a cafe in Paris. It was fun.

Iregeo Feb 25th, 2006 07:40 PM

This is great!

How about meeting on Tuesday, March 21, at 7:00 pm at the wine bar Taverne Henri IV (I've always wanted to go there!), located at 13 Place du Pont Neuf, in the 1st.

So far we have 5:

myself
Isabel
rillifane
katiekat222 and
fbc34.

We'll have a great time!

PLEASE RSVP BY EMAIL TO ME ([email protected]) THAT YOU ARE DEFINATELY COMING AND THE NUMBER IN YOUR PARTY.

Anyone else care to join us? Please, help me keep this topped until our time comes!

Irego - I'm following this thread and plan to make note of where and when the GTG is going to be. But I just have to warn you that I'm not a definite. It will be our last night in Paris, and I'm traveling with two other people who may have ideas of how to spend our last night. So if I can, I will try to stop by but I can't be sure at this point. I appreciate your organizing it, even if it turns out I can't make it. Isabel

Iregeo Feb 26th, 2006 06:20 AM

No worries, Isabel. I understand completely. Hope to see you and your friends.

martytravels Feb 26th, 2006 06:30 AM

This may sound crazy, but my wife and I both want to visit the Tenniseum at Roland Garros, which has an Englsih tour at 11 AM daily, my flight arrives at 0630 on the 24th, so I figured, why not make that our first item on our itinerary. I intend on taking RER from CDG to Luxemborg, cab to our hotel in the 5eme, then taking the metro from Cardinal Lemoine to the porte auretil (sp. incorrect) After our tour, the schedule is then flexible, but I thought taking in the 3PM fashion show at GL (or is it Printempts?) would be fun. The Rolland Garros trip is a must for us, but the rest of the day is flexible. does any of this sound amenable to youse guys?

Iregeo Mar 1st, 2006 08:54 AM

Hey docdan. Good to hear from you. What is the Tenniseum at Roland Garros?

cigalechanta Mar 1st, 2006 09:03 AM

If you meet in the Luxenbourg, there's a wonderful exhibit in the museum there. The Phillips Collection which includes Renoirs beautiful favotite, "The Luncheon."

Also a special at the D'Orsay, Cézanne and Pissaro.

Iregeo Mar 1st, 2006 09:05 AM

Thank you, cigale. I'll be there for sure.

cigalechanta Mar 1st, 2006 02:10 PM

For any of you interested Cara Black will be reading from her new book, Murder in Montmartre
March 20 at Shakspeare & Co,
March 23 at Red Wagon rue st paul 7pm

Rillifane Mar 1st, 2006 02:28 PM

Is the proposed meeting at Taverne Henri IV still on?

Iregeo Mar 1st, 2006 04:23 PM

Hi Rillifane. So far, only Kittiekat has rsvp'd "yes". Isabel said "maybe" and I'm still waiting to hear from fbc. Are you in? How many in your party?

My plans for that evening are to meet as many of you as can attend at the taverne at 7:00, and then have dinner that evening at Reminet around 9:00. What do you think?

docdan Mar 1st, 2006 04:30 PM

Oh, my, we are not the tennis fan, are we? Roland Garros is the site of the French Open. And just like any thing else in Europe, they have a year round museum aobut it, check out:

I do not mean to represent that this is a normal desire of Western tourists :)
but if you are a sports fan, it may interest you.

Iregeo Mar 1st, 2006 04:31 PM

wow, I have no poker face at all!

Sorry I'll miss you and your family, but I hope you have a fabulous time!
