I had a great experience with Aziz. We arrived by catamaran in Cuerta, the Spanish holding in Morocco. We got into an air conditioned mini bus and were through the border patrol in no time. The 45 minute ride along the coast and through the Riff Mountains was breathtaking. Since it was a Saturday, we were able to stop at an authentic Berber market on the way. No cars in the lot, just donkeys. All the women dressed in their Berber robes, bartering herbs and beans for live chickens. Then on to Tangier where we were escorted to the American Legation, Cape Spartel, Cave of Hercules and the Casbah. We saw an 800 year old tree and had lunch overlooking the ocean. I guess it really just matters who you are with. Aziz is like the mayor. No one bothered us at all. The only purchase we made was that delicious mint tea. It was a memorable trip and we were very glad we went.
