Thank you for taking the time to write a report! Your photos are beautiful. We are headed to that area of Tuscany in September and I have many of those same places on my itinerary. We are actually staying at La Fonte's Agriturismo and are looking forward to visiting their taproom.

Sherlyn72, definitely order the pici with bolognese at La Fonte. I wish I could have a bowl of it everyday.

We stayed next door at Fonte Bertusi and loved every minute of it. We ate at La Fonte and it was very good. Husband had the pici and I had green tagliatelle. Their wine was good as well.

If you have a chance, sherlyn, have dinner at https://podereilcasale.com/en/ . Great farm to table food and just a 15 minute drive. Also, if you want to visit a great little winery, have La Fonte call Marco at Capitoni for an appointment. He and his family make just three wines but they are delicious. AustinTraveler I've got reservations for lunch at Podere Il Casale already, but I wonder if I should switch it to dinner. Thanks for the info about Capitoni - I'm always looking for wineries to try and this sounds perfect!

Sherlyn72 - we went to Podere Il Casale for their cheese tour which was wonderful. It would be the perfect start to having lunch there.

I agree, keep your lunch reservation. It would be a perfect time to pair Capitoni as well since they are only about 3 minutes apart!

Also, Ristorante Daria in Monticchiello would also be an awesome lunch or dinner spot. There's not much in tiny Monticchiello but the views are amazing.

I just re-read this trip and loved the photos very much.

AustinTraveler Since La Fonte's restaurant is closed on Tuesdays, I was looking for somewhere close for dinner so Restaurant Daria is now on the list!
