Giverny + Versailles
My husband and are were thinking of taking a day trip from Paris and visiting Monet's gardens in Giverny and also visiting Versailles. Is this doable in a day?
We were thinking of renting a car for this so that we could be on our own time schedule. Does anyone have any experience or advice with this? Thank you! |
You could but not sure why you'd want to. Both are easily accessible by train, both locations are made to be enjoyed, I believe, in a leisurely way and to try to see them both I don't think would be doing either justice. I suggest if you only have a day chose one and save the other for next time.

You *could* do both in a day but not in any great depth. If you only have one day for time outside Paris, I would just pick one, not both, especially if this is your first visit to the area.

Both worth enjoying, but I recommend NOT in the same day. Givenry is quite a long distance from Paris in my opinion. Can you plan 2 separate day trips. PS if you do go to Giverny, look into going to Honfluer as well.

I recommend them as separate day trips but here's a link to a thread where the same question was asked and all the various options were discussed (taking a bus tour or doing it on their own). The OP concluded it was best to do these as separate day trips. Here is a link to that thread:
