I bet Dukey waasn't in very good humor when the Dukies went down to lowly V.C.U.!

If anyone has missed "Question for a local," it is must-reading. A lady from Texas wanted to make "Queso" with velveeta for her b & b owner in England. The posts that ensue are a riot, especially the faux news report by julies. I'd provide a link, but I don't know how...

I'd provide a link, but I don't know how..

Cimbrone - After you have opened the thread, left click the title at the top of the thread, which will change the address in the toolbar to the address of the thread. Then, right click the address, click copy, move your cursor to where you want to paste (in the Post A Reply) then right click, and click paste.

If you find the "Question for a local" thread, you can try it out. Peace, Robyn :)>-

It may be funny, but the orignator of that post was serious.

SharonG (wasn't that the one with "le clip"?) and I remember CroqueMadame.

Awe, face it, there are some darned funny people with the ability to write.

Its part of the fun. Someone posts, you click on their name...see what else they wrote and sometimes you get to their "reports"...great fun. (when you're waiting for someone to get off the conference call or something...no no, not that I waste time at work or anything...no no not that)

P_M, great minds think alike ;)

this is the most hilarious thread about airline luggage handling "pray for the leg"

http://www.fodors.com/forums/threads...p;tid=34753901

And unfortunately "can somebody examine my Trenitalia" is long gone :(

Faina, I am shocked you found that story about a missing leg funny.

I had a friend who had his upper limbs lost by the airline, and they were never recovered. Fortunately, he was able to pay for new ones when his book about the experience, "A Farewell To Arms," was published.

So now he can exercise his right to bare arms - wear sleeveless shirts?

I go way, way back around here and Elvira's trip reports were always the best, especially Ham Tacos and the Toilet's Sucking Mud!

There were some other great ones that seem to have disappeared. I don't know why! If anyone can help find these - you win a Fodor's Pin!!!

The one about wearing crispy pink running suits in Paris

"I was Drunk the Day My Mom Got Out of Prision"

"Just for Fun - Dumbest Questions Ever"
Ahem - one I started.

Another vote for Elvira and the loons.I loved their adventures in Venice in particular.

The "I was drunk the day my mom got out of prison"--haven't thought of that one in a looong time--had to laugh thinking about it.

I also remember one about driving tips for the Amalfi coast--very funny and so true.

Audflash Mar 27th, 2007 03:15 PM

What ever happened to Elvira? Did she just disappear? I believe that she lived near me here in AZ - I always dreamed of someday becoming a Loon...

Don't forget the NYC mole people... http://www.fodors.com/forums/threads...amp;tid=100608

maitaitom, I think I knew that guy -- the one you mentioned:
"I had a friend who had his upper limbs lost by the airline, and they were never recovered. Fortunately, he was able to pay for new ones when his book about the experience, "A Farewell To Arms," was published."

And didn't he have an even greater financial triumph with his sequel after the airline found all the missing limbs -- "Arms and the Man"?

And didn't Bruce Willis star in the big movie version -- "Gettin' an arm"? Or do I have that backwards -- maybe it was "Arm a gettin".

Back in the day, when Spoon and Lord David, after months of arguing, realised they actually knew each other in real life.

Can't find the thread...Audere?>>>>

Long gone old chap - deleted in one of their periodic Taliban moments.
