French translation assistance please!
I have to confirm my reservation at Senderens for next week. They wrote in French so I want to respond in French. How does this sound? :
Cordialement, |
Thanks kerouac :)
I had Sunday lunch in Senderens last January, soon after they rejected their 3 star Michelin status and it was divine. They soon had two-stars forced upon them. I am looking forward to my return visit. Best regards Ger |
it should be "...jeudi le 18 janvier..."
Also the "a" after janvier should have an accent but I don't know how to do it here. à (this is a copy and paste job to show you which one I mean) We do not capitalize our days of the week or months. Also, the "le" changes place. kerouac is right by saying 19h30 as well... Sounds like a great place...So they have a web-site? |
Frankly, the French say both "le jeudi 18 janvier" and "jeudi le 18 janvier" depending on whether you consider the date or the day of the week to be the most important precision.
But, as I tell my colleagues who are always asking me to tweak their minor translations, "you're not trying to win a literary prize, are you?" |
