Chere Coco, I have nieces and first cousins that are French, as a matter of fact, my sister is married to a Frenchman..As you see we have something in common..:)
I love France... I spent a lots of time there especially in Provence. May the best team win, I just dont like names calling, that all.. and Never refer to other teams in a dispregiative terms.. Bonne chance pour Demain cherie. I will be in France the 11th of September. Ciao, AnnaMaria.. |
ALLEZ LES BLEUS!!!!!
Oui, Zizou est le maître |
I can't wait for France to win!
|
one hour to go! allez les bleus!
BBQ tonight, should be fun! see you tomorrow! merci anna maria, bonne chance à toi aussi :-) |
What a show..I am so proud of my country..Forza Italia, Forza Azzurri..
Sorry Coco, it was a good fight..Have fun tonight. Bon Appetit, AnnaMaria |
Yup, a good game, and Italy deserved to win. I'm wearing my French supporter's jersey a little less proudly today, thanks to Zidane's disgraceful display.
|
I was happy to have either team win the Cup today, but after Zidane's shameful display, I'm so happy for Italia!
|
Hi AnnaMaria Congratulations and thanks for your support! I suppose I should have said "allez les Blancs" instead of "allez les Bleus" ;-)
We still don't understand why Zidane acted like that, what a shock for us.:-( Anyway that was a good match, with a good suspens and we can thank all the players, bleue and white. C'est la vie! :-) |
The ZZ gest is a shame and deserves no excuse...
But the reasons of the gest are also a shame : it's said that a player have to resist to all the provocations... In that times where we are to bann all the psycholigic harassment in our society ad where we try to teach the respect in our cities, allowing a professional player to insult during a whole game others and we can imagine the terms(son of a B..;,monkeys if you are a black,...) is also not excusable and need the same punition : red card... When referre will have the courage and honesty to do that, sport will be nicer and be finally only sport... Erik. |
cocofromdijon - c'est la vie, mais c'est dommage, n'est-ce pas :-(
It must have been a nasty slur to bring on this disastrous end of his career. Too sad.... |
france where by far the better team , totally dominating the 2nd half. as to what provoked zidane, he's nopt saying at the moment. (by the ways, cocofromdijon, 23rd june is cancer) ):
|
You're right capote about cancer I should have remembered!
Monpetit I agree with you, insults should not be allowed during a match. Et oui waggis c'est triste. I watched TV when the team (except Barthez who has disappeared and didn't not take the bus with the others)arrived at l'Elysée to have lunch with Mr Chirac. Our président expressed his satisfaction and didn't mention a word about the "incident". |
Unfortunately is not the first time that Zitane acted so irrationally..
He does have a temper..I read this about him at aol.sport nNews. Playing for Juventus five years ago, Zidane butted Jochen Kientz of Hamburger SV in a Champions League match, also earning a red card. Eight years ago, Zidane was red-carded for stomping on an opponent while playing Saudi Arabia. At this World Cup he collected two yellow cards and was suspended for France's third group match against Togo. Recap the World Cup |
Bon Allors
c'etait un bon temps ce semaine passe et chapeaux off to les Italiens! ca y'est! |
The Roman Empire prevails over the French colonies!
|
I am a fan of neither team, thought France dominated the game, as they kept the ball almost all the time.
Still haven't figured out why Italy wears blue, when their flag is red, white and green. That's just something an American could never understand, I guess. It also made yelling "Allez les bleues" kind of weird, too. |
The reason why the Italian team is called Azzurri? I saw this in the web:
<We use "azzurri" to name our national teams players (not only football), because of the colour they wear. Azzurro (singular of azzurri) was the royal family (Savoia) colour. It wasn't changed when the Italian Republic was born in 1946, because for too many years "azzurri" identified Italian national teams > |
azzurri - isn't that the name of an Italian beer or mineral water as well?
|
We watched it on a big screen in the market place in "our" village in South West France.
The French totally dominated until Zizou was sent off. I truly don't think the referee had a choice (although it was breaking the rules to allow the fourth official to intervene), but he was well provoked and I think little the less of him for his coup de tete. There were a couple of Italian families in the village and one house displayinga paineted sheet which read "viva Italia!". Well done Italy. |
