Back to flanneur's babble about so many jobs created and how all the EU if not the world should give thanks to England (Scot, Wales sorry don't count) not being in Schengen

While Coronation Street may not be always a good barometer of English things last night, after the first lower paid Polish sewer arrived - the two owners were saying that the first one had several others who would like to come and 'at the lower Polish wages like the other'

This could well expalin the leap in jobs in England - to the detriment perhaps of English workers themselves

yeh flanneur is hailing the economic boost but that boost may be more felt in the Cotswolds than in Manchester it seems

Polish sewer?

Don't rely on Coronation Street for all your information about the U.K.

The Polish economy is growing quickly. My daughter recently told me that she had seen that one British company with a factory in Poland was now paying its Polish workers at the same hourly rate as its British ones. It was the only way to keep staff.

A man went to see a fortune teller. As he entered the room, the fortune teller smiled and said "Hello".

The man slapped her face.

"Why did you do that?" she asked.

"Because I was always told to strike a happy medium"
