To say that there is a bit of "history" between THFC and WHUFC's fans would not be overstating it.
I don't approve - but this might give you an idea: http://www.theicf.co.uk/ |
AVFC and EFC are a bunch of pooves - so nothing to worry about.
Villa Park is a simple trip - there's a train station outside the ground (you go to Brum and change). Villa Park: http://www.stadiumguide.com/villapark.htm The balti pies are to die for. |
What the hell is a balti pie?
My hotel contact is still having me lean towards the THFC match, as he says the electricity of the match is amazing and he says that security is quite good. thereyet |
A balti pie is a pie filled with balti. Balti is a kind of curry. So it's a curry pie. They are lush.
Yes the THFC v WHUFC game will be electric - they really hate us and we're not big on them. Then there's the whole 'arry factor.... There's nothing to worry about in terms of violence if you stick to the main roads and don't go looking for trouble (and stay out of the British Queen pub!). On a more positive note both teams play football like it's meant to be played so the games are usually good (we beat them 2-0 at the Boleyn a few weeks ago). |
<British Queen>

Stick to the main roads...check, stay out of the British Queen pub... check, no problem. But what the hell is..."Then there's the whole 'arry factor"?

stay out of the British Queen pub... check, >>>
Well if I'm being entirely honest, stay out of: The Corner Pin The Bricklayers Bell and Hare Antwerp Arms The Ship Latinos Rudolphs Faltering Fullback The Victoria The two Brewers.... Well you get the idea. Have a look at "football factory, tottenham away" on youtube for a fictionalised version of what does go on. But if you know what us regulars know you will be fine as we have our own places. |

Date: 12/16/2008, 08:40 am QPR v Sheff Weds is watchable IMHO - both have been big teams in the past (especially Wednesday) and still carry some of that cachet.>> I am interested in this fixture. It seems to be very accessible from the South Ken location we will be staying at. Will I need to get tickets in advance? I would assume so if we wanted good seats and the fact that this is in London, they would have a decent fan base? thereyet |
You should be able to get tickets for QPR no problem. It would be worth booking in advance just to make sure. This represents no problem either.
QPR have never really been a "big" team. Their following is almost all from the Shepherds Bush area. To get there either go to the new White City/Wood Lane tube (which has the biggest shopping mall in Britain if you want to abandon the trouble n strife) and walk up South Africa Road or go to Shepeherds Bush and walk down Uxbridge Rd (this is a better option in terms of food and drink) The same caveat about the dates being changed by TV applies. |
<<The same caveat about the dates being changed by TV applies. >>
Do many/all these games get televised? The Trouble and strife will be in tow for this match. They would be interested in the "biggest mall" in Britain however. I checked the website and it seems easy enough to navigate for tickets. It seems that tickets go on sale about a month before the match. Does that sound right? Is there any way through contacting them to find out exactly what date tickets would go on sale? Let me know about the THFC v WHFC match as soon as you find out about it. Really would like to avoid the ticket agent at twice the price if possible. thereyet |
Maybe this will get that God-bothering CW down to something more earthly.
|
Do many/all these games get televised?>>>
Most don't. But it's sod's law that if you come all the way from the USA to see a game it's the one that they will pick. However the TV games are announced far enough in advance so that you can buy tickets with confidence of when it will be. In general tickets go on sale after the TV companies have messed around. However there are always a few exceptions. As for the biggest mall: http://uk.westfield.com/london |
Hey CW, are you a "One Hotspur" Member?
I see tickets go on sale for the West Ham United match for Bronze members on Feb. 16th, and then remaining tickets trickle out to non-members on Feb. 26th. I am guessing no tickets will remain for the non-member sales date or they will be very poor seats...is that true? Should I consider or is it too late to become a member? thereyet |
Yup - a day late and a dollar short
According to BBC News today the Tottenham Hotspurs have been disbanded because they SUCKED TOO MUCH FOR TOO LONG. |
Should I consider or is it too late to become a member?>>>
Certainly not! Spurs will happily take your money (I'm not a member as such, as I have a season ticket, so bizzarely am lower priority than casual fans) |
ps We're playing the filth on Sunday. Now THAT is a derby game.
|
Hey CW....my computer crashed and I lost your EM address. Could you drop me a line?
ty |
CW it looks like I will just pay through the nose for the tickets....I am geussing you are still up for joining us.
Drop me a line when you get a chance. thereyet |
Topping for thereyet.
