jgita __ "IS ITALY THE GATEWAY TRIP?" -- do mean to heaven or to hell?

Marilyn - keep on herding.

Marshall, hah! I'm thinking of a career change.

Addicted??

Nah! Not me :-B

SuzieC Jan 21st, 2004 11:57 AM

Me? Addicted? Yep. Proud of it.
"Himself" (my boss) was getting a little... well, miffed with me when I was planning my last trip (the at work computer is state o'the art...the at home runs on a ferret at a wheel...).
A couple of weeks ago, Himself looked over my shoulder...seems he is going to Italy and wanted to see what you say...
I notice this screen up a few times now too on his desk! hehehehehehehe...

Great Question Angel:

I post and DO NOT TELL any of my friends...guess that makes me a CLOSET ADDICT.

Husband admits his "lost" of me to Fodors years ago...got happy when the vile and disgusting nasties ran me away from these boards for close to a year...OMG: Is this a RELAPSE??????

I am watching The Australian Tennis Open while posting...Nothing addicting here. Note: Give up IMPORTANT TV while posting...giggle

I bring some of my meals to the keyboard...not all of them so, I must not be an addict.

I sometimes think negative or jealous comments are/were directed at "CYBER-ME"...Note: squeeze in Fodors as a topic to be discussed with my therapist/pastor...

Naw, no problem here!

Happy Travels,
Oaktown Traveler

Suzie, what a fantastic idea! He can never get on your case now for looking at fodors at work. Ingenius...

I have not managed to entrap any of my friends or family as of yet, but I'm working on it. ;)

Jocelyn P - if your theory of the further down the thread you are equates to being least addicted, I wonder what that makes me who re-started this new thread of an old idea?? :)

As for enticing other people towards this addiction, I am always met with eyes glazing over in disinterest but at least I tried!

Cigarettes stank up my clothes, over eating made it difficult to fit into my clothes and excessive alcohol made it so I didn't care if I had any clothes.
I've never had such a useful addiction. Of course, now with my Fodors addiction I only want clothes that are light weight, dry overnight and don't wrinkle. Thanks

Please don't delete older posts. When you do a search, there is always at least one older post that is absolutely wonderful.

I'm thinking right now about the English Garden trip report by Carrie. It was magical. I never wanted to visit England until I read her trip report. Now I can't wait to go.

I agree with foodsnob that there should be a membership fee; 15$ a year would be accessible to most, it's the price of 4 magazines, roughly. Thathomesite forums
(another of my addictions) charge the yearly fee for most of the forums and the people who pay it are really interested in the topics and contribute regularly.

"My records show" ??? LOL!

jgita Jan 22nd, 2004 10:43 AM

The "gateway trip" was a reference to drug prevention jargon. Going back to the old days, it was said that marijuana was the gateway drug, meaning it opened the door for more addictive, harder narcotics. You can see the parallels are clear in our situation.
But a lot healthier...

I got the inference, which is why I asked the question. Italy IS the stuff dreams are made of.
