First time to Copenhagen
Hi!
I will be travelling to Copenhagen by myself during the first week in April for 4 days. Should I get the Copenhagen Card for transit and museums. Which museums are worth visiting? Are there any moderately priced restaurants worth going to for a single traveler? Thanks |
I can't speak directly to Copenhagen, but most cities in Europe now offer some type of transportation/site cards. I use them all the time. The ones I've used also include a nice info packet. I don't think Copenhagen would be different. They are a great idea.

I was in Copenhagen last summer for 6 days (as a solo female) and never used public transportation within the city, it's quite compact and walkable. I took trains to some neighboring areas (castles, etc) but they were not covered by the city transportation passes.
The Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek art museum is free on Sunday mornings. I thought it was very worthwhile. I didn't do any other museums. |
Regarding museums; we loved Glyptotek and Thorsvalden musem. We visited also Frederiksborg Castle (out of Copenhagen) and Rosenborg castle
|
you might also want to visit Roskilde for the Viking Ship Museum and the Cathedral.
>Are there any moderately priced restaurants worth going to for a single traveler?< About the same ones you would go to if you had a TC. :) ((I)) |
Thanks for the info

The Central area of Copenhagen is very small - you can walk everywhere easily. We used a cab to and fro the airport - but in 4 days did everything in the city on foot.
Worth seeing outside: Roskilde Viking Museum and Hamlet's Castle. |
Hi!
Wanted to go to the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art as well as the Arken and carlsberg Glyptotek. Are they far from the city center? Thanks Denise |
