There are MANY British Fodorites, and several others of us have lived there. If one asks about a specific town or county lots of us will be able to help . . . without having to disguise the question.

I am not contemplating a permanent move at least not now. I think a move for 3 to 6 months if I could do so would be manageable because my two daughters and their families are settled here in the US. I don't want to be too far away on a permanent basis.

So I may do something like a 3 months visit at first. One idea is to have the grandkids come over for their summer break for 6 weeks or so.

I have a book (mentioned above) on order and I think that will be very helpful to start.

I continue to enjoy reading all suggestions!
