Thank You all for the advice. We have canceled Gatwick B&B, and are staying at the Melia Whitehouse in London. We also booked EuroStar to Paris, where we are staying at the Hotel Opera de Noailles for 4 nights. From Paris we are taking the train to Cologne, picking up a rented car with GPS system, at the train station. In Cologne we are staying at the Crown Plaza Hotel. Next day we are driving south to Oberwesel. Accommodations were hard to find, since on August 11th. the locals are celebrating "The Rhein in Flames". After trying for almost a week, we are booked at the "Hotel Goldner Pfropfenzieher", an Inn with a 497 year history.
Does anyone know more about this Hotel? Do the rooms have private baths? I tried phoning, but can't get through. Next we are planning to drive "The Romantic Road" from Wuerzburg to Neu Schwanstein. We have not booked any hotels for this 3-day trip. Any suggestions of where to stay and what to see would be very much appreciated. Again, Thank You for your comments. Any |
How did you make the reservation? Were you not able to see if you were booking a room with en suite or shared facilities at that time?

Since every attempt to book from here (Canada)failed, we were adviced that we should contact friends in Germany to find accommodations. We did that, and it took another week to finally get the one in Oberwesel. Of course, these friends forgot to ask about private facilities. When I asked, they did not know. When I call the Hotel, the phone rings busy.

Hi - I found the hotel on one of the German hotel sites I have used for research. Here is the link:
http://www.hotel-ami.de/h-26482-E It looks like it answers your questions but it also lists their fax number. |
Your site is much better than what I have. It's confirmed, we have a 3-bed-room with private W/C and Shower. That's a relief.
Thanks, c/s2paris. |
