Peg and Artstuff:

I went to Peru in 2008 and it was fabulous as Peru gives you a lot more for your money. In the 2 weeks I was there I don't recall paying more than 60 soles ($20 US equivalent) for a good meal with wine.

Artstuff, you mentioned the US dollar being acceptable but Peru is like most any other part of the world in that using foreign currency isn't a good idea. Just because the US dollar is accepted doesn't mean it's the best way to pay, as the vendors will add in a nice commission for themselves. You are still best advised to use your ATM card to get Peruvian currency and credit cards for major purchases. If you do decide on Peru I think you will be pleased.

Just wait until November and if the GOP wins big, just watch the dollar tank.
