We had our heating on the last 2 evenings and I'm now wearing a weird combo of summer and winter clothes.

It's a gorgeous day, but cold....

Hi Sheila !
To get back to the OP - if you want to visit Scotland some time you may as well do it next month - there's just as good a chance of good weather then as any other time. |
The last time we went to Finland/England/Scotland in late September we had fabulous weather everyday....not even any need for a jacket......and they had just experienced a miserable summer. We found all the rain was falling where we were not.
When we went to Italy the rain fell in front of us and we had not one rainy day but everything was shiny clean as we drove along from the rain that had fallen before we got there. The folks holidaying ahead of us were very disgruntled. No way to tell......you takes your chances and be prepared to enjoy yourself no matter the weather. I'd be sure to have a jacket along and an umbrella is often handy. |
Actually it's been quite a warm summer down south. A bit wet, but still warm, and some real baking days.

I am planning a trip to London and Scotland in Apirl 09. I would like to stay in a B&B that would be the closest to the majority of the historic sights. Any info regarding B&B's, places to eat would be appreciated. This is my first planned trip, so any info would appreciated.
Thanks, Ralph Wimberly [email protected] |
rifraf or Ralph Wimberly-
A few suggestions since you're new here: 1) Start a new post on your own, with titles like "Suggestions for B&B in ____ (insert location) please". Very Very few people will see your post here, hidden in a thread about weather 2) I would like to stay in a B&B that would be the closest to the majority of the historic sights. Where? England/Scotland is a huge place. Do you know which cities and towns you want to visit at this time? How many people? What's your budget? 3) This is my first planned trip, so any info would appreciated. If I were you, I'd start with going to the library and take out a couple of UK guidebooks. Look them over and come up with some sort of idea/itinerary of where you want to go, then come back with more specific questions (in its own new thread) |
