This entire thread confirms to me anyway that what is really needed here is a CHATROOM as well as a message board.

Kristinelaine Apr 27th, 2003 04:23 AM

I'm glad someone mentioned this as I have had serious problems posting replies. I get the same message as those above. Hope this goes through.

I opened this thread again this morning with some trepidation. REALLY relieved it's NOT 21 people telling me I'm an idiot...

Kavey Apr 27th, 2003 12:25 PM

lol elberko...

:)

Kavey Apr 27th, 2003 12:26 PM

Actually what's bugging me is that replying to a thread returns me to the top of the first 50 threads, even if I'm down at 250 or something.

Sheesh.

Kavey, hit the back button on your brouser (I use IE), and it will bring you back to where you were after you post.

While we are at it, what is with the 'dirtyBit=1' at the end of the URLs?

Thanks Budman
That's what I did, but it's frustrating that everytime new features are introduced old ones are lost - insufficient beta testing perhaps.
Oh well...

Think I've found a workaround to the problem with the "so sorry" error message when trying to post: it only appears when you've called up threads by clicking on your own alias (maybe also on someone else's - haven't checked).

So, if you want to post on a thread you've called up that way, just click on the thread title before posting your reply - voila!

Suppose someone should e-mail the editors about this glitch... anyone?

Thanks so much, Andre, for the tip! It works! I don't know why, but it does work! Hooray!

Kavey Apr 28th, 2003 05:30 AM

Andre
I've had that error message too and hadn't noticed it occurred when I called threads up using my name (which I do a lot).
Will use your workaround, and see if it helps.
Thanks for sharing it.

You're welcome - I also e-mailed [email protected] with a link to this thread. Let's see what happens...

Likewise, solved my problem too.
