The OP has disappeared so perhaps move the ecological discussion to the Lounge?

BTW when you calculated mileage rate comparisons were you using and American gallon or the British (Imperial measurement) gallon? There is a 4 fluid ounce difference over 100 ml per gallon.

I'd take the train or fly between cities just due to the distance involved.
