Why are driving from Naples to Sorrento???????

Napoli is one of the worst driving cities in Italy, and Sorrento is 30 minutes by train and it costs a few euros. I don't know what you want to do while in Sorrento, but from Sorrento you can easily take a train, ferry or short bus ride to Pompeii, Capri, Positano, Amalfi, Ischia and Vesuvius, and into Naples if you want to see the art of the city.

If you haven't book your tickets yet, I suggest you fly directly to Naples and take a bus to Sorrento, and then return to Rome and fly out from there -- or vice versa (Fly in Rome, out Naples).

Sorry for my typo. I mean to type:

Why are YOU driving from Naples to Sorrento????????

By the way, I really love Naples, and I live in Italy, so I haven't go a problem driving in Italy. But driving from Naples to Sorrento isn't "much more doable." It's not advisable at all. Seriously.

PS: I just noticed your trip is in July. You will be paying for a car to sit in a traffic jam. Take the trains and ferries to go sightseeing on the coast and to Pompeii.
