I stayed in Sorrento and traveled to Positano and Capri etc. AWESOME AMALFI COAST! in Positano, be sure to stop in and get the Lemon fragrance....family owned....Aqva Avrea - Profumi di Positano (at the top of the town). It is awesome and I have ordered it shipped to the USA since I have returned.

Hi Jill, my son and I are going to Positano in May. I haven't made hotel reservations yet. We haven't decided on staying in Rome upon our arrival. Did you hire a driver from Naples to Positano? Were there lots of steps to the hotel where you stayed. I've had a little knee trouble since I climbed up Diamond Head in January, so I'm concerned about all the steps.

Thanks for the advice! As I only have 3 nights I may skip out on Paestum:(. Looking forward to my lemon scented dreams.

We stayed at Hotel Marincanto as it was high enough to have a view, but low enough that we could get back to our hotel every night without walking up 1700 steps. The path to our hotel actually has a seaside walk that doesn't involve steps but rather an upward walk that is not bad at all. We took a train to Salerno actually and then a direct ferry to Positano. I was nervous about the amalfi coast drive and felt that I wanted to see the Amalfi Coast the first time from the sea anyway....

Jill, what time of year did you visit Positano?

Hi Jill,

I am planning my upcoming trip and have some question to you, but felt I needed to start a new topic since it's more specific. Would love to get your feedback! Dreaming too!
