I know it's an old thread, but yes I still send postcards. People seem to like them, especially my young niece and nephews. Plus my parents aren't too Internet-savvy!

My mom likes to get a postcard. I just buy her one from an art museum. When she did the math of what the last one that I sent, she was appalled and asked me to just send it or hand deliver it when I come back.

I buy them and other cards to send throughout the year but not on my trip.

The sending of postcards is directly proportionate to the enjoyment of receiving a postcard. For me, not so much. It's like souvenirs, I really don't want a souvenir from someone else's vacation. Unless it's very unique and there is a reason that the person is sure that I would want it.

In other words, I don't want something made in China that says, "Hola from Tijuana."

When I buy gifts for those back home I always buy a postcard from the location where I purchased the gift to attach with the gift. I write a little bit about the area from where I purchased their gift. Along with their gift they now have a beautiful picture to show them exactly where I was when I choose a gift for them.

Yes people still do! We like to send them to our loved ones back home when we are off on an extended trip such as Italy, etc.

I do.

I send postcards to my nephew, niece, mom, and kids of friends.
