A Bellini is made with the nectar of white peaches and Italian sparkling wine and it originated at this bar we are talking about where thay don't let you in with shorts.

This is just a coinsidence, but I was reading "Wine Spectator" magazine a few weeks ago and I remembered reading an article on Harry's Bar in Venice. So, I went and found it and it says, "Waiters in white dinner jackets and black bow ties give a luxurious tone to the experience, though some of the clientele look slightly shabby in shorts and T-shirts." Here it is folks, in black and white. I don't know why "Wine Spectator" would write this if it wasn't true. You can go www.winespectator.com and read the story yourself.

On May 1994, I went for lunch to Harry's Bar in Venice and enjoyed it very much, the service impecable and the food was good. Next to us there was a table of about 8-10 people, about half of them men, all in shorts. Not only they were having a great time, but who comes in greeting the patrons but Aricco Cipriani himself, the owner of Harry's Bar. He chatted for a little while with me and hubby and then went on to chat with the table next to us. A little later the waiter brought in the most luscious chocolate cake I'd ever had; dessert was on the house. If Mr. Cipriani ever had a problem with people in shorts on his establishment, he sure was in a great mood that day.... true story. By the way, the food is overpriced, but hey, YOU ARE IN VENICE.
