I don't change them everyday at home, so why should they be changed daily when on holiday - it's not as if someone else is using them.

Now what about flannels...

If they do begin to change the sheet every day I ask them NOT to.

Yes, I also ask at the front desk if they change their underwear daily.

Not everyone plays cricket, Alan.

I am fine with not changing sheets and towels, but I think that a quality hotel should let the customer decide and make the process easy. The practice of changing towels that are in the tub or on the floor works well, as do the cards you can leave on the bed. Asking at check-in works too. Personally, I don't request a change of either, unless I'm staying more than a few days.

Not sure I fully agree with the argument about not changing sheets or towels at home. I mean, I'm not at home, am I? I also expect the waiter to bring me my food when at a restaurant, even though I carry my own plate from the kitchen at home.

so who are these picky peeps who are complaining about hotels which don't have a daily change of sheets and towels?

what level of hotel are they complaining about?

Farty Towels (if you remember a certain TV programme).

When we stay at a B&B more than one night we assure the host/hostess that we will make our own beds and that the towels need not be changed. So far three nights is the max we have stayed in one spot; might feel different for more nights.

One hostess absolutely refused. I think she felt it would reflect on her quality of service. One actually didn't charge us for three loads of laundry since she didn't have to run up and down stairs making our beds up and changing the towels.
