The problem with arriving at 8 is that most shops/sites wont open till 10, so I rec. you start going to Atarazanas market, recently restored and already open. Or you can try the red hop-on hop-off bus for a tour. All info at the tourist office.

Josele, Thanks so much. With having until late aftgernoon do you think there would be time to go to Nerja?? And would it be worthwhile to try and cram so much in. I like to get the most in but not kill myself.

My family and I went specifically for the Picasso Museum which we all very much enjoyed.
I am embarrassed to say we were rushing to catch a flight and so ate takeout from McDonalds. My girls still remember that I tipped the boys at McDonalds because they were so great and so nice. gruezi |
heyjude2919 , I believe you do not know Malaga. With so many things to see in Malaga, I really see no point in going to Nerja. If you go first to the tourist office to get your bearings, then walk to Casa del Guardia for a shot (and only one) of sweet wine (invigorating in the early morning), then Market, then Casa Aranda for chocolate/coffee and churros, all very close, you'll be ready for Larios street, the shops shall be open. You can visit the Picasso Museum, the Cathedral and even the Alcazaba, and have lunch in any place. In the afternoon you can take a taxi to the Parador for a drink/coffee in the terrace with the best views in town, and even visit the Castle, a walking distance from the Parador.
Another museum I really recommend is the Museo de Costumbres Populares, where you'll get an idea of how life's been here for the past two centuries. Get all the info at the tourist office. |
Thanks so much. Your plan sounds great! I'm so excited!!

Another of josele's great recommendations for Malaga is the restaurant El Caleño. My husband and I shared paella there and it was an absolutely wonderful dish.
