Diving in Italy - NEED ADVICE

I'm traveling to Italy next May and want to plan some dive trips. I'm thinking one in the Italian Riveria and one in the Amalfi Coast. Any suggestions?

Cathy, <BR>one of the best places for diving in Italy is Sicily, and exactly Siracusa. <BR>The sea is warm, and the submarine landscape is marvellous. <BR>I'm not an expert myself , but I have seen the broshure of the tourist information office about summer diving opportunities in Siracusa - Sicily. <BR>There is also a diving center right in front of the place where I live that organises diving lessons and excursions. <BR>Let me know if you want more information. <BR>Sincerely <BR>Dora

this summer I went to a small island near the pontine isles called Ventotene. It is charming and uncrowded and I loved it. I went snorkelling there...there are some underwater roman ruins. They have extensive diving opportunities. A boat to the island from naples was like $10 or $15 round trip and on the way back it's like a big party on the boat. email me if you want anymore info!P.S. I also went to Sicily this summer and it was quite beautiful (Taormina).

Hi, Cathy, <BR> <BR>I haven't personally dived, but here are a couple of items that should be helpful: <BR> <BR>www.3routes.com - has a worldwide scuba diving directory <BR> <BR>http://www.divecompanie.com/intro.html - has a link to the dive center at Terrasini, Sicily. <BR> <BR>http://marolaws.iet.unipi.it:8001/Isole/Italia2.html - info on scuba diving in Italy <BR> <BR>Hope this is helpful -- have fun. <BR> <BR>John H

about 100 km south of Naples there is a big natural ressort called Cilento. There You find a lot of nice places to dive, for ex at the Capo Palinuro. Even Palinuro is a nice place for Your base. <BR>have fun <BR>Gar
