"Shona and Morag" are my two favourite sheep and I'd just rather leave them out of this, thank you very much.

Stilldontknow Jun 27th, 2011 10:49 AM

"Wouldn't it be Shona and Morag up there?"

Senga and Chantelle.

looking at all the posts here....
it must be true that the favorite subject of the Brits is the weather.....
Being in Greece and having vast reserves of hot weather, just tell me how many degrees you want me to send you......

humptynumpty Jun 27th, 2011 11:25 AM

Don't be so cheeky or else we won't be sending you any more euros.

Aren't you supposed to be out on the streets demonstrating against something?

clausar Jun 27th, 2011 11:38 AM

haha....no i don't belong to the ones demostrating....

RM67 Jun 27th, 2011 11:48 AM

Would you like the Olympics back?

I don't want them here now that I can't get any tickets.

willit Jun 27th, 2011 12:11 PM

Funny how perceptions of temperature differ. On video to my parents in South Africa. "It's cold and miserable, down to 15C last night"

humptynumpty Jun 27th, 2011 12:21 PM

"haha....no i don't belong to the ones demostrating"

What, are you the Prime Minister or something?

clausar Jun 27th, 2011 12:53 PM

RM67 under the current economical situation, no thanks...
otherwise the Olympics in Athens have been an unforgettable experience....

humpty i am not the only one not demonstrating you know...and the last thing i'd like to be is the Prime Minister

sheila Jun 29th, 2011 01:58 AM

Shut up! We've got good weather for the first time in weeks.

jamikins Jun 29th, 2011 02:07 AM

Yes - stop complaining please! This is the first wave of good weather in Britain since I moved here in 2007! :)

Kate Jun 29th, 2011 02:34 AM

I'd just like to apologise for the downpour yesterday evening in London. That is because I took delivery of an air conditioning unit yesterday afternoon, which means summer is now over.

BKP Jun 29th, 2011 02:46 AM

You are all ridiculous. We have had a gorgeous summer! Just because it came in April doesn't mean it wasn't lovely. This Friday is sports day. It must be sunny or the kids won't be able to keep the eggs on the spoons!

jamikins -- we came in 2007 too. Since then the UK has had the rainiest summer, the coldest winter and a couple of the hottest days ever. I thought we were to blame for the extreme weather. I think I will pass the blame to you.

MissPrism Jun 29th, 2011 02:48 AM

I've just changed to a summer weight duvet. Expect ground frost tonight

clausar Jun 29th, 2011 03:13 AM

Just out of curiosity.... Do you have ac at home in the UK?

Gordon_R Jun 29th, 2011 03:44 AM

Do you have ac at home in the UK?

Virtually unheard of. Frequently gets thought about by those unable to sleep during a heatwave, but the cost and upheaval is just too much to justify for the small number of days/nights it's required. Tried a "portable" unit once, but the noise was like a hairdryer left on all night. Took it back to the shop after 2 days.

Lifeman Jun 29th, 2011 03:53 AM

If it gets too hot at night, I just argue with the wife and it turns to chilly.

RM67 Jun 29th, 2011 03:57 AM

LOL!

alanRow Jun 29th, 2011 04:03 AM

"Just out of curiosity.... Do you have ac at home in the UK?"

We have windows (and blinds to keep the heat out during the day) - and the ability to remove the duvet from the bed when it gets too hot
