I think the fast train between Gothenburg and Copenhagen takes 2.5 hours, and I doubt you could drive it as quickly as that. The fast train is not cheap, though (but neither will a car be).
For $200/night for five people (you mentioned the ages of your kids on the other thread and they're well above the discount age), you might have to go for a hostel.
Otherwise, I would suggest bidding on Priceline for two rooms and accept that one kid might have to sleep on the floor. Go to www.biddingfortravel.com. The Mermaid Hotel has somewhat primitive bathrooms, but is likely to come up, if anything does, at the 3* level. The reason I would recommend the Mermaid, though, is that it has a wonderful large free breakfast, and if you have to buy breakfast for five people that would probably cost $100 or so right there. So maybe even consider booking the Mermaid or another hotel that offers breakfast conventionally. At biddingfortravel.com, the Palace and the Marriott have come up at the 4* level. Neither offers a free breakfast. The Marriott sounds like a beautiful hotel, and the Palace sounds like a crummy hotel but I know it's very nicely located.
The woco.dk site might help you find a bed and breakfast place that will accommodate all of you for the price you want. It will probably exclude breakfast, though.
