Pierre Marcolini - every time
Denise Acabo's shop is at 30 rue Fontaine, not 50, it's well worth a visit, I won't forget the gianduia ball I bought from her, that was my lunch that day.
I also love Cluizel chocolate tablets which I always get for friends and family at le Bon Marché's food hall. Intense and wonderful. http://www.cluizel.com/ |
Thanks so much for all the wonderful suggestions. I will be sure to hit the gym extra hard so I can indulge while I'm visiting!
Maison du Chocolat is definitely a big favorite of mine...fauchon has some really wonderful stuff as well! Have fun
Didn't read responses, but I got GREAT chocolate at Cocoa et Chocolat in Ile Ste. Louis.
I may have botched a lot of spelling in that last sentence.. |
My favorites are all mentioned above; Jean Paul Hevin (the truffles are to die for!), Cacao et Chocolat (on Isle St. Louis) and la Maison du Chocolat. I'm getting cravings just thinking about it!

Jean-Charles Rochoux in the 6th.
La Reine Astrid on rue Washington in the 8th.
Loved Jadis et Gourmande, 39 R Archives. Every time.
There are 2 shops on "Rue Clar" a couple of blocks from the Eiffel Tower
We went to a really neat mom and pop chocolate shop called La Mere de Famille. We were on a private tour of the city with Michael Osman and he went to this place often. The people were very kind and even let us taste some samples before buying some boxes.

Another Debauve & Gallais fan here. There's also a store in the 2eme at 33 rue Vivienne.
Another vote for Pierre Herme on rue Bonaparte off St Germain
Another vote for La Mere de Famille. I absolutely loved their milk chocolate passion fruit ganache. I was only disappointed that I hadn't bought more, but that may have been a good thing since I couldn't stop eating them.

There are too many fabulous chocolate shops in Paris to list them all, but you can find ideas for places you'd to visit on http://www.chocoparis.com
The site has maps, hours, Métro stations, etc. Two recommendations for any chocoholic visiting Paris: A la Mère de Famille, at 35, rue du Faubourg Montmartre; and Michel Cluizel, at 201, rue Saint-Honoré. |
I saw a chocolate shop on the Champs Élysées last year. It's on the right side as you walk from the Arc. Bring your gold.
spaarne, would this be Maiffret, by any chance? Did you visit the store?
Does anyone know if Maiffret is still open on the Champs Elysées (no 102)? The location is no longer listed on the company's web site, which is surprising, given the store's history.
It does appear on Google Street view, however. |
Lutetia,
I walked in and looked around in December. It was over my budget, as is everything on the Champs Élysées. I do not recall the name of the store. |
Thank you, spaarne... Maiffret certainly is expensive. I'm guessing they may have closed the store on the Champs sometime in the past year.
