Chianti horseback ride
Does anyone know of a business that would offer a one day horseback ride in the Chianti region of Italy. My husband thinks that would be a wonderful way to see some of the beautiful vineyards.<BR>Thanks

Il Paretiao (spelling? check Karenbrown.com...her guides have the correct spelling) is a villa that specializes in equestrian. they can conduct rides for you in the region, I think. Karen Brown is VERY reliable. Have fun. we are going in Nov. and can't wait!

There is a property that rents apartments in Tuscany. It is called the Mugano Horse Farm.<BR>Maybe you could e mail them to find out if they offer this kind of service. Or maybe they would know.<BR>It is an sort of like an agriturismo and I am assuming it has horses instead of olives, but I could be wrong. <BR>

I came across the web site travel-italy.com during my research for my upcoming trip. They do have a one day horseback ride in the chianti region, and I believe it leaves from Siena. Don't know too much about this particular company, but they have a number you can call for info.

Is response to the last post the villa's name is:<BR>"Mugnano, the horse farm".<BR><BR>I was there last year. There's horses on the property and riding lessons...<BR>It is situated near the village of Certaldo (between Sienna and Florence.<BR>You can find more information about them on www.tuscany.net.<BR>

MC. Did you stay there or just visit? I e mailed them an inquiry for an apartment as they rent for less then a week, which is not the usual in Tuscany. We choose another property, but I was impressed as they sent me a follow up e mail to see if I had decided.<BR>I wondered what the facilites were like.

I don't know if any of these posters still post, but, if they do, I'd love to hear the results of the ride...
or if anyone else has done this, would love to hear about it. |
