As someone who goes to Rome several times a month for work,I would try to book the Hotel Aberdeen for your needs. It is highly recommended in most guidebooks and on tripadvisor being in the top 10 hotels. It is a delightful 3 star plus in a wonderful area near tons of transportation options with the underground, buses, walking and a couple blocks from Termini but in a GREAT area.Staff are cousins who run it and everything from the rooms to breakfast is first rate.I stay at 4 and 5 star hotels for my airline layovers and only wish that I could stay here as it is soooooo much better.
I just stayed here 3 nights a couple weeks ago and it only gets better-been staying there for years! Check the reviews out on Tripadvisor and you will see that its the best bang for your buck in Rome.
