CDG Airport

How do I get from Terminal 2A to Terminal 1 with luggage, a Wife, and a 12 year old.

DonTopaz Dec 3rd, 2005 02:39 AM

You take the shuttle (navette) that goes from Term 2A to Terminal 1. Your wife and 12-year old would do the same.

Signs in French and English point the way.

Hi B,

From the CDG airport website:

When you get off the plane, follow the "Correspondance Transfer" signs up to the Transfer desk to check your departure terminal.

If your connection is at Terminal 1:
- International flight:
Take the Aéroports de Paris shuttle bus (within customs zone) situated close to the Transfer desk
- Domestic flight or Schengen:
Follow the "Sortie - Exit" signs and proceed to police controls
Then take the Aéroports de Paris shuttle bus (line 1) to Terminal 1

You've received the info you need. But it is quite likely you will only have the wife and 12 yo to worry about. Most of the time (but not always - especially if one flight is on a budget airline) you can check your luggage through.

WHAT!!!???

No one is going to say "since you'll be jet-lagged and schlepping luggage, the only way you should consider is to take a taxi?"

Bmarus Dec 3rd, 2005 07:39 PM

Thanks to everyone for your help. The Taxi idea sounds fast and stress free.

I thought that was a joke. :o

francophile03 Dec 3rd, 2005 08:42 PM

It is a joke. That poster always recommends taking the RER while others like myself always say take a taxi. But, of course, this is if you're going to central Paris from CDG not travelling within CDG.

janisj Dec 3rd, 2005 09:35 PM

Bmarus: I certainly hope you return to this thread. That comment was meant to be a JOKE (and a fairly lame one at that)

DO not try to take a taxi from T2A to T1

Londonlover Dec 3rd, 2005 09:39 PM

Aren't those navettes crowded and standing room only?

It might make more sense to take a taxi between terminals than it does to take a taxi into the city

Flyboy Dec 3rd, 2005 09:51 PM

No, it doesn't make sense to take a taxi between terminals.

francophile03 Dec 3rd, 2005 09:52 PM

Haha, londonlover, a taxi would be faster, you're right. Unfortunately CDG doesn't allow it!

Christina Dec 4th, 2005 08:08 AM

Those navettes can be very crowded, but I don't think a taxi is going to lose its place in the queue to take you around to another terminal. I didn't know CDG didn't allow it, as Francophile says, but doesn't surprise me. I don't think they'd do it anyway, though.

Offer to pay a fare equivalent to central Paris (~40-50Euros), and I'm sure the driver will be glad to take you, wife, kid, & luggage to CDG1.
