Has everyone received his/her check? I've not and am beginning to wonder if I tossed it out with junk mail.

thursdaysd Nov 24th, 2011 09:49 AM

Mine showed up in a proper envelope with "windows", with "Foreign Currency Fee Litigation Settlement" showing in the top one. Big surprise, as I thought I'd been sent a check for a dollar something a while back... This one was for $315.31, but I had done a lot of travel, including 10 months going RTW, during the relevant period, and I did go to the trouble of filling out all the details. It will help pay for the Nespresso habit I just picked up in Budapest.

I did notice that the accompanying letter said that this case was settled in 2006!

I haven't received mine yet; I wonder whether they're coming out in alphabetical order, which means ours will be slow to arrive.

thursdaysd Nov 24th, 2011 12:13 PM

Underhill - no, my last name begins with "W". Maybe zip code order? Mine is quite low.

Underhill Nov 24th, 2011 07:58 PM

And mine is quite high; so I hope that's it!

My FIL has just left to go to his home after Thanksgiving. He said that all he received was one piece of paper that was folded in half & taped - just like I reported earlier. No envelope - just the perforated paper with 1/2 of it the check & the other half an address correction which he could mail in. No info about a subsequent settlement. He got a settlement for $18 - maybe that's the unique thing about his check.

Does anyone still have an envelop with a return address? I might need to write if we don't get a check soon.

J62 Nov 25th, 2011 10:15 AM

The address on the envelope is posted in this other thread.

MY CHECK ARRIVED !!!

$1,241.65

In a windowed envelope - entirely different than how my FIL's check was "packaged"

We leave for Paris on Sunday - enough $$$ for a few dinners.

I remember wondering if it would be worth it to go for anything other than the flat $25 option, but since I keep track of all my finances it wasn't too hard to get the info required. I got about $380. Happy to get it-it will be applied to the vacation budget!

Underhill Nov 25th, 2011 03:20 PM

Our check came in the mail today--a little over $200, which I don't think was right. Oh well.

Luhimari Nov 25th, 2011 08:33 PM

We got our check last week for $600+, just in time for Christmas shopping!! The check came in an envelope together with a letter mentioning another class suit.

grandmere Nov 25th, 2011 09:11 PM

Anyone else NOT get the check yet? Congrats to those who did; great time of year to receive a check!

scotlib Nov 26th, 2011 07:12 AM

grandmere, I've just come in with the mail for today and no check. I just did the flat $25 option. If ever I receive anything, I will certainly post.

isabel Nov 26th, 2011 08:28 AM

I still haven't got any thing. It does make going to the mail box more exciting than usual though.

patandhank Nov 26th, 2011 09:07 AM

Mine turned up yesterday - after the heads up at least I knew what to look for - got the folded card. $18.04 - hey it will buy lunch.

StuDudley Nov 26th, 2011 09:17 AM

OK - another confirmation that the $25/$18.04 settlement comes on an easy-to-get-lost card.
