built-in gel inserts are OK since they are scanned separately anyway. The reasons for all liquids in the one small bag are to facilitate screening them and also to limit the volumes if something dangerous slips through the screening.

Had a 4 oz bottle of contact lens solution in my little plastic liquid holder bag. No problems even though it was more than 3 oz. Yes, from what I've read, contact lens solution (and even KY Jelly) are OK!

sorry for delay, but better late than never! Gels that are manufactured part of shoes seem to be fine. They never look twice at my Nike/Cole Haans--and there is a pocket of gel visibly embedded in the soles. I've also got some gel-type heel cups in a pair of running shoes that are placed under the Nike insole (they don't shift if placed underneath) and forgot all about them when wore them through security for a trip where I planned to run. These also passed without comment. |
