Car Service in Italy
Hi everyone,
I posted yesterday about how to get from Venice to Villa D'este. I'm looking into car services now and having a little trouble. I received a quote from a car service associated with the hotel but it was over 800 Euros and if I'm not mistaken that's a smidge on the pricey side! Does anyone have any recommendations on a reliable car service from Venice to Lake Como? Thank you |

If you ask, you canīt afford it :-) No, seriously, what do you pay in your country for a car with driver for a distance of 300 km one way? IMO 800 Euro is what you would expect for such a distance. Why not simply take a train to Como, or rent a car yourself? |
Right- take the train. Trains in Europe are lovely and affordable. A friend of mine is doing a whole tour of Italy this summer- she's going to be with her husband and two friends who don't travel much, so she's making all the arrangements- they're going from Como to Venice, I think, but the trains work both ways- easy trip to plan.

Hi A,
That is very high. It's about 320 km. Rome to Sorrento (about 270 km) is usually 450E. ((I)) |

OK, so it would be something around 500 Euro. But maybe some more since average wages in Northern Italy are usually higher than in the South. Still, 500 Euro is not something I would spend for 320 km - but itīs amandalbīs money to burn, not mine. |
