car rental meteora
After some advise from a lady who took tours around the monastery,s
with elderly folk she said the monastery,s are a few kilometers apart I asked if any knowledge of rentals but she could not help but believe a day with car enough. Has anyone rented at Meteora or possibly Kalambaka and could assist me in this question Thanks |
Having been to both places, I doubt if they are large enough locations to support any rental car operation.
Have you checked the Inyernet, like Kayak? |
What monasteries? Where? Never heard of either of those - are they car rental agencies? Normally, a one-day car rental costs the same as a 3-day one, so is usually not a cost-effective idea.

Sorry, I misunderstood. Not enough info on your end.
|
Sorry for the typo. Obviously should be Internet. Meteora was one of the most memorable places we visited in Greece. We drove our own car from Belgum.
|
We rented a car from Athens. You do need a car if on your own, but there must be some tours once you arrive there.

Meteora is wonderful and very much worth a visit!
We took public transportation to Kalambaka and spent the night. Hired a taxi to take us to all of the monasteries... It was very reasonable from a cost perspective (sorry, don't remember what the cost was). If you want to drive, you could rent in Athens and include Delphi in your trip. I don't know of car rentals in Meteora or Kalambaka, but do try checking Autoeurope.com or Kemwel.com. Have a great trip! I loved Meteora!!! |
Thanks for imput and think a 3 day hire better
I could do a loop and include Meteora and Delphi Sure i,ll sort it!!!! |
There are no car rentals in Kalambaka, nor in Trikala.
The nearest one is in Larissa. You can easily reach Larissa by train and pick up a car there. |
Good strong lead thanx
