Car Rental
We will soon be driving from Switzerland to Paris. Is it better to go with American rental companies (Hertz, Avis) or a local European?
Also, does anyone know about drop-off fees between countries? Is it better to rent multiple times or get one car the whole way? |
Try Autoeurope - they claim they get the best price. They are a booking agent.
|
You will pay a high fee for picking up a car in one country and dropping it off in another so it may be better to book separate rentals for each country.
I also recommend AutoEurope. Check the Web site, but also call their US toll-free number to ask about drop-off fees and about specials that may not be listed on the site. |
Hi R,
I also suggest Autoeurope and www.gemut.comand www.novacarhire.com. Dropping off in another country usually engenders hefty fees. Where are you starting in Switzerland? ((I)) |
Try gemut.com. In most cases, they offer discounted Autoeurope rates.
|
You might try swapping cars in or near Geneva which, of course, is on the border with France.
Call Andy Bestor of gemut at 800-521-6722 for specific advice. |
