We are actually going May 18-29th. I think we've decided that we will just stay south, even though it's disappointing to me, b/c I've always thought we would go to Venice. But, my fiance' has *promised* we would go back to Italy, maybe for our 1st anniversary, so we can go to Venice then.

Make sure he keeps his promise. Then, you'll have the best of both worlds!
