Wow -- thanks for all your support, it's great and that's why I love Fodors. Actually, my luggage really isn't all that big, 24" and a rolling tote/backpack, (which unfortunately doesn't fit over the handle, so I have to use the luggage strap) BUT... I am a small person, and "mature", AND going solo, so it's more difficult for me to manage it on my own if there are any stairs involved. After many trips, I do know my limitations and try to plan accordingly. I've even had people look at my luggage and comment is that all you took for 3 weeks! They obviously weren't Fodorites, lol. I really tried to lighten the load this time, and it's not clothes or shoes that are my downfall, it's hair dryer,(other than Paris, I'm staying in apts. so I will need a dryer) flat iron, travel speakers for my music, etc. -- all that "stuff". I keep telling myself, "You are not going to the jungles of Africa, you don't need to pack for every possible event", but alas, I still have two rather heavy bags. I am going to take another look at my rolling carryon tonight and see if I really "need" some of that "stuff". I truly envy those of you who can throw in some clothes a few toiletries and heft that into the overhead bin and be done with it. Maybe some day. Now if I could just find that handsome, strong, travel partner ...

Yikes Barb, aren't you sorry you posted this simple question?

My simple answer is that this past June, it cost us $41 euros with 2 large and 2 small pieces of luggage and the traffic was heavy. 50 should be plenty.
