Bouillabaisse in Paris?

Among the many dishes I love to eat, this ranks very high.
What restaurant in Paris, preferably affordable, has the best you've eaten?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi
you of course need a place that features cuisine from the south.
Two that are highly rated I have info about are La Mediterranee in the 6th (place de l'Odeon) and Le Petit Nicois in the 7th. Do a Google search for details like [prices, and
good websites for food are Patricia Wells, and timeout.com

I'm not a bouillabaisseophile so I can't give you a first-hand reco, but I'm married to one, so I can give you a second-hand one!

Try Chez Janou in the 3eme. I suspect Bastide Odeon in the 6eme also serves a good bouillabaisse. Both restaurants are quite affordable.

The red Michelin has a useful index of places that serve specific items, "Le plat que vous recherchez" and lists the following under bouillabaisse:

Goumard, 9 rue Duphot (1er) one star
Le Dome, 108 blvd. Montparnasse (14e)
Frégate, 30 ave Ledru-Rollin(12e)
Marius, 82 blvd. Murat (16e)

Enjoy!

... and oh, there are so many styles, and versions, but to be authentic, SW -and Elaine has the right answer - 10,rue Amelie - 01-45-51-83-65.

And with it, a St. Joseph, 2000 or 2001.

You may consult a Gastronomique for a complete history of this marvellous dish, in all its abberations.

the helpful info above for 10, rue Amelie, is for Le Petit Nicois

We had bouillabaisse at La Mediterranee and didn't really think it was that great. Not bad, but nothing to write home about. Just our opinion. As I recall, the appetizer was the best part of the meal, shrimp salad with pureed eggplant.

Merci beaucoup to you all.
