Our trip was amazing - the highlight being our day with Stefano. I can't recommend him enough. He is so passionate about Rome and loves telling you things that you would not find in a tour book.

We visited Lake Bracciano and then had lunch in Ceri. I can't believe I would have missed out on the beautiful countryside had I stayed the whole time in Rome.

Oh, and my boyfriend proposed!

Wonder Woman, Congratulations on the proposal. Best wishes for many happy days together. Thanks for posting upon your return. I've sent an e-mail to Stefano. He's gotten back to me with some questions and hopefully I will hear from him soon with suggestions and rates. Thanks again.

Wonder Woman, I'm so glad that everything worked out so well. Stefano is a real gem, isn't he? I know he made my recent trip with my mother very memorable. We did the same daytrip with him, as well as a night tour.

Congrats on the proposal! Now we will look forward to hearing about your honeymoon destination! :)

You hear about lots of recommendations on sites but you always wonder how accurate they are and I have to say everything written about Stefano is true. He is genuinely a nice guy who is passionate about his country and its history. Very refreshing!

As for honeymoon, funny you should mention it but I have posted another message asking for help/hints re. a stopover place in between Rome and Siena (where we are spending a few days). We have one night free in between and I'm looking for a hidden gem in between the two places. I want it to be more 5 star than B&B but definitely no corporate/major touristy hotel. Had some good suggestions on my other post but just in case....
