Wrinkle-free pizza! :D

SeaUrchin May 13th, 2005 09:57 AM

I guess I was thinking about plumping up somethings other than lips!

SeaUrchin, are you naughty!

I am still dreaming about a pizza we had in Rome that had the perfect crust, fresh basil and oregano, several different cheeses and these tomatoes. They were cherry-sized and had been almost soaked in a brine of oil, basalmic and spices. Not sundried, they were still juicy but oooo were they delicious!

We’ve ordered combo pizzas in England and have found, among the other ingredients, sweet corn! This happened once in York and twice in London, and one of the places in London was a Pizza Hut©.

It tasted very sweet to me, and I don’t care much for sweet things on a pizza, but my friend seemed to think it tasted alright and also liked the color it added to the pie.

What’s next, mushy peas?

>What’s next, mushy peas?

The food channel had some people putting BBQ sauce on their pizza.

((I))

There used to be a pizza place in St-Cyprien in the Dordogne that served pizza with foie gras. Even the locals wouldn't touch it. You can still, however, get it with magret de canard.

This really inspired me so I made homemade dough and top it with marinaded artichokes, sundried tomatoes, kalamata olives, mushrooms and fresh herbs. My husband thought he walked into the wrong house.

Whoa StCirq! Pizza with foie gras!?!?! Dear God that could be my downfall!

All right I've already fallen down. But that pizza sounds like heaven to me. :-)

Oh, my goodness, mcgirl, that sounds delicious! I've taken to using Buitoni's foccacia mix for my pizza crust, but am having a difficult time locating it at Albertson's. Anyway, yours sounds yummy. Thanks for starting a food thread for those of us who care passionately. J.

"Come on, only 48 posts"

Is this a contest? What number are we trying to beat? :)

Your homeade pizza sounds tasty. I like trying different toppings, but normally end up with plain old pepperoni pizza. ((Y))

Doesn't everyone? Okra also makes a refreshing topping.

If you go to the top of the post and read you will understand the "contest".
