Dear Susan,<BR> This debate seems to surface unbelievably frequent. I have tried many shoes but last year when we walked allover scandinavia, hands down the winner was my pair of Naturalizer sandal with the EURO sole. I did not get one sore toe, blister etc. I just bought 2 more pairs yesterday. And they are VERY reasonable in price ($59). My pair from last year still look brand new. For colder weather, I have found Josef Seibel (especially with the gel DR scholl gel inserts) not to be beat.

Bought SAS recently at Nordstroms in the Bay area. They really are comfy and perfect for orthotics if you use them.

What is the "ballpark" price of SAS Flats (with the rubberized heel) at Nordstroms? Denise

Good post. I have spent a lot of money on shoes that ended up not being so comfortable. I have also gone to Target and bought inexpensive rubbersole black leather shoes and they were very comfortable.

Sometimes I can pick out other Americans easier by looking for deck shoes than sneakers. My Nautica shirts, dockers and Sperry topsiders (no socks)scream American more than any T-shirts, shorts, sneakers and ball caps ever could.

Denise, the "ballpark" price for SAS flats is about $90.00, but it was the best $90 I ever spent!
