Best Paris Dining Experience under 30 E??
 

Some of you may think there's no such thing, but this would be my big splurge. And I'm HOPING it might even include my half of a cheap but great bottle of wine :)

You can certainly EAT in Paris for less than €30 per head, but it is most likely to be categorized as an 'ORDINARY dining experience', and it will definitely NOT include any part of a 'great bottle of wine'. (I'm assuming that by 'best' you mean at least 'very good', and that 'a great bottle of wine' means exactly that!)

We ate here for 25 euros for a 3 course set menu that was really good. Cute little place, very nice service, I would definitely go back:

If you can go 5 more Euro, try Les Ministeres on rue de BAc or Bistro de Breutil or Le Gallopin. An aperitif, 3 courses and a half bottle of wine in lovely surroundings

If you want to eat like the locals on the Left Bank, in a traditional setting (maybe you're at table that Hemingway or Fitzgerald once used ...), then Polidor is a solid choice: http://www.polidor.com/

This shabby-chic restaurant was recommended by a fellow fodorite when we met at a GTG last year.
When we go back this May we will definitely be trying it for it's lovely food and cheap prices.

Au Lys D'Argent, right on Rue St.Louis en L'Isle, a block or two down. Pre fixe menus for 10.50, 13, or 16euros included appertizer, entree & desert.

I found this on the web & am going to try and get there this time:
Le Starcooker2, 32 Rue des Archives.
They apparantley serve a three course lunch for 15euros!

Also: Le Wagon Bleu, 7 rue Boursault. Metro Rome.
There menu boasts a three course for 22euros.

This one I have been to twice and its really good.
L'Insulaire,
rue Gregoire de Tours, in the Latin Quarter between rue de Bucci and Blvd. St.Germain. A choice of mains & a starter or mains & dessert for around 13euros.

I had three excellent lunches in November at very good restaurants with good value fixed price menus. I am not sure what the dinner costs would be at these places, but the menu at dinner might be around or under your figure.

Le Pre Verre, 8 rue Thenard in the 5th arrondissement. 13.50 for two courses including a glass of wine at lunch.

Baz Art Cafe, 36 Boulevard Henri IV in the 4th arrondissement, near the Bastille. 15 euros for two courses at lunch.

Cafe Constant, 139 rue St. Dominique, in the 7th arrondissement. 16 euros for two courses at lunch.

I also had two very good dinners at the Brasserie Wepler, 14 place de Clichy in the 18th arrondissement. 21 euros for two courses and 27 euros for three courses.

Auberge au Jarente on rue Jarente in the Marais. Wonderful cassoulet and magret. Basque food. And the prix fixe does include wine.
Bistro du 7eme on av. Latour Mauborg--not great but very nice.
Piano au Muet on rue Mouffetard. Raclette among other things.

Café des Musées, 49, rue de Turenne - I'll definitely be going back there, and the prix fixe should be within your price range.

Easy to do. Make reservations for lunch at Le Baratin, hidden out in the 20th. It's small but always packed:

We loved eating at La Pergola. It is not listed on any web pages or on any sites. It is just a really good local brasserie. To find it, go down Avenue De Saint-Ouen toward the Boulevard Peripherique until it intersects with Boulevard Ney on the right and Boulevard Bessieres on the left. This is a large intersection. Turn left and go maybe 50 feet. La Pergola is on the left. We ate wonderful meals -3 courses each with wine for 24E, total for 2 persons.

A resounding thumbs up to Gretchen's suggestion of Auberge de Jarente (7 rue de Jarente in the 4th) for hearty and delicious Basque/Bearnaise cuisine.
Because of Gretchen's recommendation a few years back, we went in search of this cute little spot and have been returning ever since.

Stretch it to E32 and you,ve got it all - aperetif, entree, plat, cheese, dessert and half a bottle of wine. One of my favorite little restos, not well known in the 18th. Reservations are a good idea. Just don't tell anyone....

I ate lunch at Cafe Hugo, which is in the arcAde at Place des Vosges. They have tables outside. Beautiful area, I combined a Paris Walks tour of the Marais which terminated here, around lunch time.

For 17,20 euro I had veal (Bavette de veau), 1/2 bottle Vittel, glass of Chinon. Lots of veggies and potatoes dauphinoise

Robjame, that restaurant looks nice, and we will be staying not far from there. What do you recommend to eat? My french is a little rusty, but I do know what Lapin and volaille are and ... non, merci.
